Clay and Sip Pottery Class for Date Night and All Occasions

Print Paint Pot’s two hour pottery wheel class is great value and ideal for anyone with zero experience who wants to try the wheel to see if they like it before taking on a four-week course! to learn all the tricks. We provide aprons and your creations after firing will be microwave, dishwasher, food and oven safe.

The wheel can be a tricky one to learn so you're unlikely to master it in just a single session - But Print Paint Pot do provide unlimited balls of clay for unlimited attempts. Because the more you do the better you get. The clay offered in this class is a buttery soft speckled stoneware clay that magically transforms from a beautiful burnt brown colour to a lovely glossy speckled neutral pot which is dishwasher, microwave, oven and food safe after firing. This transformations is truly surprising and a great way to be in awe and wonder of the alchemy that is firing to stoneware temperatures (1200 + degrees).

This two hour pottery class with Print Paint Pot is an ideal amount of time to learn the foundations of stoneware ceramics and wheel throwing, it includes approximately 15 minutes of studio introduction explaining the pottery process and wheel demonstration, 90 minutes of wheel time and 15 for cleaning up your wheel and photo opportunities at the end of your class.

We highly recommend exploring Chatswood’s amazing food options before and/or after class. On Thursday and Friday night Chatswood have an awesome market with lots of delicious snack and food options. Chatswood is also the best place to bus from. A chill downhill walk when taking the bus from Chatswood. Artarmon Station is also option, please keep in mind there is a moderate hill when walking from Artarmon station. Guests can have a fun day out by exploring Chatswood before and/or after class.

Please note: In the unlikely event the class exceeds 8 guests to accommodate requests, we will ensure you have the most experienced, friendliest and most welcoming teacher(s) for an intimate experience.

* 1 fired pot is available with the ticket price, additional pots are available for $15 and postage options are available (cost is calculated depending on location and number of pots)

*Their class is all about good vibes and fun times in a fun and vibrant studio with friendly and funny teachers with 8+ years experience teaching one-off beginner friendly classes. This studio’s welcoming approach for complete beginners is down to earth and excited to share the joy and wonder of stoneware wheel thrown pottery.

* Kids 8+ are welcome to join class with or without their guardian any session starting before 4pm. Kids under 8 are welcome to attend with a guardian and share a wheel. A fun clay play date with yours kids :)

* Sessions starting 4pm onwards are 18+ making it perfect for date night, girls night or friends and family bonding.

• Old clothes you don’t love and shoes you don’t mind getting a little dirty

• Dress for mess, nails cut short, long hair tied back, leaving valuables at home (highly recommended)

• You are welcome to BYO, including any cups you may need

• Watching / Googling the movie Ghost is recommended to prepare for an optional ‘ Ghost Movie ‘ photo opportunity. Great for a lol :)
